I was thinking of this same topic over the weekend. The ones who are getting baptized are mostly family members and I read that about 70-75% of children do not come in. If you look around most of the elders are older and not that many young ones are in positions. I too can see in the near future where there will be a huge shortage unless they just start putting anyone in pants in a position of oversight. I really believe with the Internet a lot of the young ones look everything up and they are not buying into the crap like previous generations did. I would give anything to see a huge collapse of this religion. The damage they have done is so great!

2+2=5 cited this fact about the shrinking amount of elders. Perhaps the coming implosion?
by wha happened? inat the last elders school i heard from a few different attendees that the average age was easily 60+.
there will be a lot of elders gone within the next 10yrs.
there is nowhere near enough young brothers to replace these ageing elders.

Oh I forgot, we wee to the first day of the DC 2012 and I slept through most of it because I was sick and we left before the last talk. I had been reading COC at the time but my husband hadn't. He was very upset when the speaker said we should listen to the elders. He left very upset with the info being talked about. We didn't return for the remaining of the conversation. I would tell him things I was reading and he would give me the standard JW answer. I said to him "the book said you would say that" and he said "well I will read the book"! He did and was appalled by what he read and we will never set foot inside a KH again unless it is a memorial service.

I went to the Memorial last year and started to have a panic attack and was just so depressed being there. I had felt for a long time that something wasn't right but I couldn't put my finger on it. I didn't feel the love and hadn't for years. We went to another meeting at a different hall after that and I felt the panic attack again so I really knew something wasn't right. I had read two books by that time but I didn't put it together until I read COC. My husband followed me out and neither of us have set foot in a KH since 4/12.

One experience in our old Kingdom Hall that still HAUNTS me
by Newly Enlightened inthe following is a true experience and my daughter gojira101 will verify that it happened to her.
an experience from our family's past that still haunts me and started my questioning whether this is the true organization of god or not.. my daughter, who has always been a good kid, never gave us any problems [she's an adult now] started regular pioneering.
within a few weeks of her starting, she fell on a steep hill and tore open her knee and had to have several stitches.

I get upset every time I hear these stories because they happen way too often, there are way too many power hungry, abusive men in position. I am glad you were able to get your daughter and son in law out and hopefully you will be able to enjoy life. There are some books out there that will help with your self esteem. Have you read any of Steve Hassen's books? There is also a book called Six Pillars of Self Esteem that is really excellent in helping to gain back your self esteem which the WTS has managed to crush it. Hang in there!

SkyGreen is no longer one of Jehovahs Witnesses... Why?
by SkyGreen inwow it felt good to type that heading, if only it were officially true!.
i guess i dont want to dwell on "ttatt" too much, though i am now an inactive jw now, and will be forever, i dont want to be defined by that.
but i will certainly keep an eye on this forum, contribute where i feel i can, and i must say thankyou to those who moderate it and keep it running.

April 15, 2013 Watchtower - p. 22-26: Organization-Obsessed Much???
by sd-7 inthere's a study article "make sure of the more important things", and in no uncertain terms the article makes clear that "jehovah's organization" is the most important thing.
the term "organization" or "jehovah's organization" is used a whopping 24 times in the article, including a subheading titled: "follow the example of jehovah's organization".
i thought organizations were entities, but that sort of subheading makes it seem like the organization is one giant person whose example we can follow.

RUN as fast as you can. I married a JW who was inactive and I got involved and became a JW and went to meetings with him. I spent almost 30 years of my life depressed and sick all because of the religion. I love my husband dearly and we are both out together but that is not the norm. Many spouses don't leave with their mate and many divorce when one leaves. It isn't like other religions at all because it is a dangerous cult. They control every and I mean every aspect of your life. Read Steve Hassen's books and you will see how dangerous it is. No one deserves to live their life controlled, and it will be if you get involved with this religion. Do more research and read books that will let you know what is really the truth. You will not be happy if you get involved with her because she is very brained washed and everything she does is being directed by the religion. You need to run!

I know it is very difficult what you are going through. It is an up and down process that so many of us have either gone through or are in the process of going through. I would try to have a heart to heart talk with your aunt and try to reason with her that you are not DF or DA and she needs to show you in their library where it says they are to be shunned. It is hard to lose family and friends over this cult. Hang in there, it will get better with time.

Do some GB know the truth about the truth?
by Bob_NC indo some of the gb consciously know the truth about the truth and they just can't say it?
or are they all still under the spell?.
how about cos or dos?

I believe that GB along with most of the ones in high positions know along with the lawyers because they research everything in order to make sure they aren't sued.
